Street Fair - Saturday 8 November
10am to 2pm
There's something for everyone at the Fisher's Ghost Street Fair!
|All of the fun of the fair is set to return when the Festival of Fisher’s Ghost descends on Mawson Park and Queen Street for the annual Street Fair on Saturday 8 November from 10am to 2pm.|
Be a trapeze artist, join an interactive story-telling experience where theatre and magic combine, or get ready to sail the seven seas in a music extravaganza like no other. It’s all part of the entertainment line-up and fun activities in store, which will transform the central business district into a magical outdoor celebration for all of the family.
A variety of stalls will line Queen Street, boasting everything from quality bric-a-brac, multicultural food and sweets, to must-have homewares, jewellery and community information.
Kids will also love seeing their favourite characters come to life in the ‘How to Train Your Dragon 2’ stage show, where they will learn the skills and special moves to take on any dragon that crosses their path. Or make a splash and find your inner pirate at the Move and Groove Underwater Kids Show, which promises to be one ocean-tastic singing and dancing experience.
Among other popular attractions set for Mawson Park is the Gymbus, a double decker bus which has been converted into an indoor children’s playground, complete with modified gymnastics and play equipment. Climb, roll, slide, swing and dance around the Gymbus, which promotes physical activity as fun for kids of all ages and abilities.
Melbourne-based children’s performance art ensemble, The Nylon Zoo, will bring a touch of magic to the Street Fair with its mix of theatre, costume, dance, music and storytelling – all inside the body of a giant inflatable salmon. This is one journey of the imagination that will have youngsters (and the young at heart) mesmerised by its captivating journey to far-away places.
